In the summer of 2023, Wondergirl, Supergirl, and Stamp, along with their mom, were rescued with several stray dogs from a remote community by AARCS. The mother dog was severely undernourished, and though she produced milk, it wasn’t enough to feed her young ones. It remained uncertain whether she was their actual mother or if stress hindered her ability to care for them but we needed to intervene quickly.

Fortunately, the incredible support from our network of volunteers led us to a foster home willing to take on the responsibility of bottle-feeding these three adorable pups. The dedicated foster parents woke up every three hours to feed and care for them. Their foster family’s own dogs became valuable teachers and role models, showing the puppies how to “dog”. As a result, Wondergirl, Supergirl, and Stamp not only survived but thrived under their care.

AARCS provided essential medical care, including vaccines, deworming, microchipping, and spay/neuter. Now, these little heroes are ready to embark on their journeys to forever homes. In fact, Stamp has already found a loving family, and we are confident that Wondergirl and Supergirl will soon follow suit.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to PetSmart Charities of Canada for their generous Adoption Prep Grant. This grant has been instrumental in helping animals in need, covering the various costs associated with preparing pets for adoption. From providing milk replacers to covering medical expenses, the journey to finding permanent, loving homes for formerly homeless pets like Wondergirl, Supergirl, and Stamp requires significant time and resources.

Thank you, Petsmart Charities of Canada, for supporting our cause and being an amazing partner in our mission to rescue and care for animals in need.
