“My AARCS name is Halkirk but my foster family calls me Scooby, because I remind them so much of Scooby Doo. Doo you have an empty, puppy-shaped hole in your life?! Does this make you feel all “Ruh-roh”” inside? Looks like we’ve got a mystery on our hands!

Doo you love to play outside? If so, we would be a great match. I love to explore, picking up the scent of everything on our walks, which is what makes me so great at finding clues for Mystery Inc. I am also awesome at retrieving balls and could play with toys for hours on end. I love to play with the rest of the gang (my furry foster brothers) and get along great with other dogs. As much as I love all of those things, my biggest motivation?? SCOOBY SNACKS! My foster mom says I am easy to train because I will do whatever you ask to get that treat into my belly. I already know sit, down, and shake, and learn more every day. I also know where to doo my business, and haven’t had a single accident in my foster home. I sleep through the night in my crate, and only complain a little when you put me to bed. My ears alone are good for hours of entertainment – sometimes they stand straight up, sometimes they are down, and sometimes they do two different things at once! Jinkies!

With all of those skills mastered, I am working on some of my more “Zoinks!” areas with my foster family. Those include regulating my excitement when looking for clues on a leashed walk (Scooby Snacks definitely help!), remembering what should and should not go in my mouth, and improving my chill skills (like keeping 4 paws on the floor). When the gang is awake, I want to go-go-go and solve the mystery of life! With some patience and consistency, I know I can improve in all of these areas and become the best possible version of myself!
