About Kindred
Let me introduce myself! I’m Kindred, but my foster family calls me Indy. If I do say so myself, both names suit me pretty well. I’m social, affectionate, and form strong bonds with people and other animals, but I’m also quite the adventurer—just like Indiana Jones! My foster mom says I’m a really good puppy. I’m curious and adventurous, but thoughtful about new things. I like to take a moment to assess a situation before jumping in. Once I’m comfortable, though, I’m ready to explore, play, and discover everything around me. When the fun is over, I’m equally talented at finding the perfect spot for a nap.
My sweet and cheeky personality is always on display, and I know how to win over both people and dogs. While I enjoy being part of a pack, I’m also comfortable entertaining myself and appreciate having a little space when I need it. I’m still finding my voice and, truthfully, all that barking from the resident dogs seems a bit unnecessary if you ask me. I love playing with my sister, the resident dogs, and the children in my foster home, but I’m also happy to play independently with my toys. Right now, my favourite toys are soft, stuffed ones. I’m still learning that shoes, boxes, and other household treasures aren’t actually mine to collect. My foster mom is helping me understand what’s appropriate to chew, although I continue to impress her with the random “artifacts” I manage to discover around the house. A treasure hunter has to keep her skills sharp, after all!
Outside is where my adventurous side really shines. While the other dogs are often busy playing together, I prefer to explore. You’ll usually find me investigating behind bushes, checking out the trees, or sneaking under the deck whenever I think my foster mom isn’t looking. There are so many exciting things to discover out there. Bubbles are pretty fascinating too, and I think they’re definitely worth chasing.
Of course, every good explorer needs plenty of rest. I have several favourite napping spots, including my crate, the stairs, and a dog bed in the living room. The living room bed is my top choice because I can keep an eye on the children, the other dogs, and everything else happening around me while enjoying a good snooze. When I’m in the mood for cuddles, I’ll curl up beside my foster mom or seek out my two favourite snuggle buddies: my sister Sonnet and the senior dog in the house.
I’m very social with both dogs and children, but I’m also good at recognizing when I’ve had enough excitement. When I need a break, I’ll quietly walk away to recharge before returning when I’m ready for more fun. My foster home has three large resident dogs, and I’ve learned to navigate their different personalities well. The senior dog is my favourite companion because we both appreciate peaceful naps and quiet company. I’ve learned to respect the boundaries of the more independent middle dog, and I enjoy occasional play sessions with the younger dog. My sister is a little more outgoing than I am, and I’m perfectly happy letting her take the lead while I observe.
There are also three young children in my foster home, and I think they’re wonderful. I enjoy spending time with them, especially when they settle down for a nap. Sometimes I get excited and forget my manners, but I’m learning that keeping all four paws on the floor earns me plenty of attention. Once I’ve settled, I’m gentle, affectionate, and happy to be part of whatever they’re doing.
y foster mom has been working hard on my house-training skills, and I’m making great progress. I’m very consistent about doing my business outside or on my puppy pads. I’m also doing well with crate training and settle nicely at bedtime, sleeping about 7–8 hours each night. When my foster family leaves, I give them my very best puppy-dog eyes, but I handle it quite well. Like any puppy, I’ll need a family committed to continuing my training and helping me grow into the wonderful dog I’m becoming. In return, you’ll get a thoughtful, affectionate little adventurer who loves exploring the world, collecting treasures, and finding the perfect balance between independence and companionship.
If you’re looking for a puppy with a gentle heart, a curious mind, and an adventurous spirit, I just might be your perfect match.
