Extremely shy

Searching for my other half!

Hi, I’m Dodger. If you come to meet me, there’s a good chance you won’t see much of me at first. I know that’s not the best sales pitch, but I’ve always believed in being honest.

You see, new people and new places can be pretty scary for me. When I move into a new home, I’ll probably spend my first week or two tucked away in a safe hiding spot. While you’re sleeping, though, I’ll quietly venture out for food, water, and a quick trip to the litter box. I’ll be watching, listening, and learning that I’m finally safe.

The thing is, once I realize I’m home, you’ll get to meet the real me.

The real Dodger is sweet, affectionate, and happiest when he’s curled up near the people he trusts. I may take my time getting there, but the bond we build will be something special because it’s earned. I love gentle attention, and I have the cutest little chirpy meow that I use to let you know I’m happy to see you.

I’m not really the kind of cat who wants to be picked up and carried around, and I don’t enjoy feeling confined or restrained. I prefer affection on my own terms—a cozy spot beside you, gentle pets, and the freedom to come and go as I please. Respect my boundaries, and I’ll reward you with trust, companionship, and plenty of love.

There’s one thing that would make my transition much easier: another cat. I absolutely adore other cats. In fact, I would strongly prefer a home with a friendly feline companion who enjoys having a buddy around. My feline foster siblings have helped me blossom, and I spend much of my day following their lead. Seeing them relaxed and happy gives me confidence and helps me feel safe.

I love grooming my cat friends, rubbing up against them, sharing cozy nap spots, and engaging in gentle play sessions. Whether it’s chasing toys together, exploring the house, or simply lounging nearby, I truly enjoy having another cat’s company. My foster family says I seem happiest when I have a feline friend close by, and they often find me curled up beside one of my foster siblings or lovingly giving them a bath.

I’m also highly food motivated, which means treats can go a long way toward winning me over. A tasty snack and a little patience are often all it takes to convince me that humans aren’t so scary after all.

What I’m looking for isn’t a family that expects me to be brave on day one. I’m looking for someone who understands that some hearts take a little longer to open. Someone who will celebrate the small victories—the first time I peek out from my hiding spot, the first chirpy greeting, the first head bump asking for affection.

If you’re willing to give me the time I need, and if you have a friendly cat looking for a devoted companion, I promise there’s a loving, loyal little cat waiting beneath my shy exterior. I can’t wait to meet you.

Love, Dodger
