Chip is about 75 lbs of fluff and still growing into himself, but don’t let the size fool you—he’s got a surprisingly gentle, soft personality. He’s a classic “big puppy”: playful and curious, then happy to settle nearby and hang out with his people.

He’s doing really well on leash and is a super easy, enjoyable walk companion. He already knows sit, paw, and lie down, and he’s eager to learn more. He’d especially love a home with a backyard where he can run around and burn off energy (and fully embrace his love for snow… it’s truly his favorite thing ever).

Chip is still working on crate training, but he does great in a large playpen where he feels more relaxed. Like most young dogs, he’s still learning boundaries—he should be left with appropriate enrichment items when alone to ensure that he can keep busy with those, and not be given the opportunity to chew on things he shouldn’t. With a bit of structure, supervision, and positive reinforcement, he’s on the right track.

He would likely do really well in a home with another dog—he enjoys the company and it helps bring him out of his shell. He’s currently living with two dog-savvy cats and does well with them, though he does love watching squirrels and has a bit of prey drive there.

Overall, Chip is a sweet, fluffy guy with a calm side, some great basics already in place, and lots of potential. With a bit of guidance and space to play, he’s going to be such a fun and loyal companion.
