Meet Sakura – a sweet girl looking for an experienced cat loving home
Beautiful Sakura came to us from the shelter environment where she was scared and reserved. Once in a safe place, it didn’t take Sakura long to join the family in the day to day activities. She is very observant and prefers to take a slow approach when interacting with humans. We can pet Sakura on occasion when she is feeling calm and snuggled up with one of resident cats. She will lick a creamy treat from our hands and approach when we have treats and food, but she isn’t ready to receive pets yet. She is so beautiful and sweet and lovely and likes to talk with us and slow blink. However, sudden and quick movements can startle her.
She adores our other cats and clearly came from a multicat environment. She talks with our cats and rubs against them affectionately. Her favorite companions are the quiet, calm cats. She often seeks out the company of our 16yr old cat and is often found cuddled up somewhere with a pillow with our 2.5yr old male. It is there they take turns grooming each other. This is when Sakura feels most at peace. She needs a home with other cats. We do not have a dog currently, but a cat wise dog who is non reactive and doesn’t chase cats would probably be fine. You know your dog best and how they will handle a new furry member in the house.
Sakura still retains a heart of a kitten and is often found playing with scrunchies and flinging facecloths at night. She still engages in a good old case of the zoomies around the house with our youngest male cat. She adores the cardboard scratchers we have around the house.
Sakura will require a forever home where the humans are respectful of her body language and allows her to take the lead on interactions. She is slow to trust humans, but has shown tremendous growth with us. While she is still hesitant to human touch, she feels comfortable being around us and is often found snuggled up on the couch or in our eldest (20yr) daughter’s bed.
With patience and time to allow Sakura to develop trust, she will be a wonderful addition to the right home. Apply today!
