About Koda
I do really love my humans and can become a bit attached, so when they aren’t around, I tend to get a bit concerned. It’s good that my foster mom works from home, as I don’t love being alone for long periods of time, and would appreciate a family who is able to spend more time with me. As we learn to trust each other, I know I will be able to relax more when you’re away.
I am very eager to please, which means I catch on pretty quick. I know how to sit and shake, and I’m working on lay down and stay. My foster parents have also taught me how to have good manners around food and when we are going out the door for a W-A-L-K. I am still trying to catch on to this whole walking-at-someone-else’s-pace thing, but it’s getting easier every day, and I think I’m finally getting the hang of it!
As much as I love my non-furry friends, I also love the furry ones and can play, play, play all day with my foster sister. I think I would do better in a home with a sister or brother to play with and keep me company when my humans are away, but I’d be okay with getting ALL of your attention too, as long as I can have a doggie playdate from time to time.
I do sleep in my crate every night. Sometimes I need a little encouragement to go in, but once I’m there, I’m happy to curl up in my own space and snooze the whole night through.
I am also house trained. It would be helpful for me to learn how to signal you when I need to go, but we can work on that together. Until then, just show me where you want me to do my business, and I’ll leave you in charge of the schedule.
I can get excited when meeting new people and will express this through jumping. It would be helpful if I had a big fenced yard to run around in so I can burn off some energy, then I’m happy to chill in my dog bed while you’re busy doing other things. I will be patiently awaiting our time together, whether that be playing, learning something new, or exploring the outside.
Oh, did I mention I love toys! Whether I’m playing tug with you, or a doggie friend, or throwing one around by myself, toys are my favorite!
I’m sure with a little love, tenderness, and steady companionship, I will be an amazing part of your family. I can’t wait to bring furever love and joy into your life.” Kisses, Koda
