Bubba is the most intelligent, sweet, quirky guy and he brings smiles and giggles to everyone who meets him!

Bubba is the perfect balance of active and relaxed. He adores daily adventure walks and hikes and if he gets his exercise and enrichment met he is very happy to cuddle away the rest of the day. Bubba is not just a dog who likes cuddles, He IS cuddles! Cuddling is his love language. He would love a family that is looking for a cuddler to allow him to be his happiest self. (he is the BEST guy to watch movies with!!) He is very calm around the house, I work from home and he is the perfect, quiet gentleman while I have zoom meetings.

He is relaxed in our yard that backs onto a ravine, he doesn’t even bark at the passing dogs. He would need a home with a big yard that has a 6 foot fence as he has an impressive 5 foot vertical jump. Bubba loves having BBQ’s with guests and he will be found upside down on guests laps within minutes of arrival! He’s down for a good game of football or badminton and he never steals the balls but is happy to participate with one of his stuffies in his mouth! Bubba loves all the people but he gets afraid if people raise their voice in an upset way (I once accidentally yelled when he drank out of the toilet and he was sad for hours after). He would do great in an adventurous, active family with people with calm, cuddly energy.

“Let me tell you what I Love:
Cuddles and more cuddles! Get the movie ready and I will flip upside down on your lap while we watch the movie together.
Stuffies! My favorite stuffies are these tiny chipmunks that hide inside their log. I hold them gently in my mouth while I toss them in the air… every single day!
Hiking and car rides! Let’s take a car ride to the hike! This is my heaven.
Sniffy walks. If we can change up the walk I would love a couple walks a day where I can sniff out new smells. The backyard is where I chill out so I need to be taken out of the yard to get real exercise and excitement!
BBQ’s and dinner parties. I love it when new people come over, I am very happy when they are over and I will socialize and then I can be found sleeping on one of these new people later in the evening. After all….. You invited them over for ME right?! 🍗

I am quirky and one of my quirky things is that I LOVE to roll on your towel after you shower! I will wait patiently until you are done with your shower and then I will gleefully roll on your towel.
I love SMELLS… I can sniff out food even if it is hidden. I would love to use this great nose of mine in a nosework class!

Let me tell you about things that are not my favourite: 👎
Big men with hoods ( especially if they are hoods with fur) Don’t worry because if you invite men into my house I will understand that they are your friends. My fear is hooded men approaching me randomly on the street but if you offer me a treat when I am afraid I will focus on the treat instead.
Brooms or sticks. I was afraid of long handled things like that but my foster Mom has been letting me know that those things are safe so I am getting less afraid.
Dogs who approach me without consent. Sometimes I get confused if dogs come running at me and I am a bit more sensitive to large black dogs who rush at me.

I am a smarty pants, let me tell you what I know:
Basic and calming commands ( Sit, Stay, Relax, Wait, Leave it, Potty)
How to check in on walks to keep my focus on you. I am practicing redirects with treats when I get overwhelmed or triggered. I am highly food motivated so we can work together very well if you have your treat bag with you!
I know how to be alone in the house, I might give you a little pout when you leave but I will be a good boy while you are gone and I will wait until you get home to go potty.

Let me tell you what I am working on: 📚
Leash Reactivity. I already told you the things that might trigger me when we are out and I really like to make you happy. I am learning that I am safe with you so I am becoming less reactive, I would love it if you would take me to some classes to help me gain confidence.
Counter surfing. Did I mention that I am part Kangaroo? Once you learn how tall I am you can really help me by not leaving tempting treats where I can reach them. I know how to “relax” outside of the kitchen while you are cooking and this really helps me not be tempted by the counter food!
I am working on pacing while my foster Mom jogs alongside me. I can certainly run MUCH faster than her but I am working on slowing down so we can run together.

I would love a forever family who:
Will have the energy and lifestyle to keep me exercised daily outside of the yard.
Has a big yard with a 6 foot fence so I can safely hang out in my yard without being tempted to show you my kangaroo jump.
Has calm, loving energy that is looking for a cuddle monster. Please don’t try to train that out of me because I need to cuddle to be happy.
If you would consider taking me to agility classes or nosework I would be the happiest boy alive! I am so smart and I want to use my brain as much as my body. Let me make you proud!

I would like my new family to understand that I should not be taken to off leash parks. I am the FASTEST boy and I might find something that I react to . If I am allowed to get to top speed I wouldn’t be able to be stopped. I need my new family to protect me and keep me safe.
