“Make it so!” Captain Picard is ready to beam into your heart and boldly go to his forever home.

Picard is a one-year-old Collie who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Timid by nature, he can be unsure around new sounds, sights, and experiences—but every day, he’s making incredible strides in his confidence.

Picard appreciates slower movements and calm interactions, and it may take a little patience for him to fully trust new friends. He’s currently working on some reactivity when having his walking harness put on, but this improves as he builds trust with his people. Once you’re in his circle, he’s the ultimate snuggle bug. Stop petting him, and he’ll gently nudge his way as close as possible until you resume—he’s that affectionate!

He’s great in his crate and often chooses it as a safe place to relax. Picard loves to chew bones, explore everything at his own pace, and meet other dogs. In fact, he would thrive in a home with a canine companion to play with and help build his confidence.

Every day is a new adventure for Picard, big and small—and we’re hoping his next big one will be finding his forever family.
