About Winnie

Slightly timid

Hi, I’m the irresistible Winnie! Thanks for checking out my profile.

When I first came to my foster home, I was very confused because I had a car ride that ended at a place completely different from any other place I’d ever been. Right away, I found a hidey hole and decided to camp out there until I had a chance to size things up. My foster mom knew I just needed some quiet time to myself. Sometimes she stopped by to speak to me, but I stayed put for several hours. Finally, my foster mom spoke quietly and tried to coax me out, so I carefully came out and looked her right in the eye. Then I ran so fast to her! I think we were both surprised. I rubbed against her and got lots of pets. After I had my dinner, I began exploring the place. That night, I snuggled into bed with my foster mom and got lots more pets. What bliss!

The next day, I was allowed to explore the whole house and found some pretty interesting things. One thing I noticed is that it’s mostly quiet here, so when I hear a new noise, I’m on high alert until I’m sure everything is okay. If I see something unexpected, I also go on high alert. I still use my hidey hole from time to time, but I really prefer to be around my foster mom. When she watches TV, I like to jump into her lap for more delicious pets. She says I’m very sweet and I think she’s telling the truth.

Three visitors came one weekend and made me nervous at first but within a few minutes, they managed to charm me into going closer for pets and scratches. They really loved me. One of the visitors was 11 years old and he especially liked me. He gave some very nice scratches and pets.

I like to play with the kitty toys and to check out the neighbourhood from one of the windows. Recently, something fascinating happened: white stuff fell from the sky! I’m still a pretty young girl who loves to run, play and discover, so white stuff falling from the sky was something to watch for quite a while. I’m building my confidence daily and being curious helps me to explore and figure things out in my environment.

Something we discovered soon after I arrived is that I am a torbie! That’s because I’m a tabby and a tortoiseshell kitty. I have sprinkles of orange in my striped fur but the very coolest thing is my tail. It’s orange at the tip and looks like the paintbrush that added the ginger to my coat.

I would love to be in a forever home that appreciates my unique and loving personality. If you’re looking for a cat who is absolutely adorable and needs just a bit of patience to become the confident, contented companion you’ve always wanted, I’m definitely your girl! Apply today! xo Winnie
