About Alameda

Moderately shy

Hi there! I’m Alameda!! My foster parents call me ‘little Tigress’ because of my graceful walk, deep green eyes and unique patterns on my fur. My personality depicts the same – calm, composed and independent. I can be spicy and reserved with new people and places, and will need a few weeks  to settle into a new environment, but don’t let my initial shyness fool you. Once I feel loved and secure, you will see the other side of my personality which is full of energy, fun, and adventure.

When I’m first in a new environment, I can feel uncertain, and may use my teeth and my paws to make sure I stay safe. Once I get comfortable with you though – well, I hope you like cuddle bugs because I love curling up with humans. I haven’t met any kids, but I think older kids that can read cat body language would be best – I wouldn’t want to scare any little ones.

One thing you should know about me is… I am very playful & curious. I enjoy chasing toys, games, jumping and climbing! You will be surprised to see how fast I can run and how high I can jump… I’m the sort of cat you will find on high ledges, peering down at the world until someone comes by who might give me some pets! Sometimes, I will attempt to play hide-and-seek – I’m a master at hiding (hint: I’m probably curled up under a blanket somewhere).

In the afternoon, you will find me resting on the couch observing the outside world through windows which is my favorite part of my routine. I have a very different taste for my napping spots… be it on the top of the couch, a warm pile of clothes in the wardrobe, or a sunny spot on the carpet!

I will take some time to settle into a new place and bond with you, but once we become best friends, I will follow you everywhere around the house. I will accompany you when you are cooking, doing laundry, or even working out. Though I greatly appreciate your company, I do need my own ‘space’ and some ‘me’ time while sleeping, grooming or exploring.

One more interesting thing about me is my soft and soulful voice! I will ‘Meow’ if I am hungry, followed by the softest purrs and that will melt your heart for sure. I am a non fussy eater and pretty adaptable and flexible with my schedules.

Did you know cats can have asthma, just like people?! I have asthma, and need an inhaler given once daily. Don’t worry, I’ve got a special inhaler for pets so giving the inhaler is pretty easy once I’m comfortable. It might be a bit harder the first few weeks while I get used to a new environment, but once I’ve settled in it can usually be given without much difficulty. My foster parents just give me head scratches while they give it to me and that seems to work well.

I’m not asking for much; just a tranquil home where I can blossom into the wonderful cat I know I can be. If you’re searching for a great companion who needs a bit of time to unfold, I’m here, ready to embark on a journey of trust, love, and companionship. Apply today! xo Alameda
