About Misto

Slightly timid

Meet Misto!  She is a quiet girl until meal time and then she chirps endlessly until food arrives. We nicknamed her ‘Cricket’ because of this. She came to us slightly overweight and she has worked hard at losing the weight (which has helped with her arthritic joints). She likes to come get us and bring us to her food dish, so we usually offer snack size meals throughout the day. Her forever home would need to be supportive of smaller meal portions.

Misto spends most of her time in our basement curled up on a heating pad. This is a quieter location in our home so I suspect her ideal home would be a peaceful one. We don’t think she would enjoy a busy home with young children. She is great with our children, just has a slower pace about her and seeks out quiet places in our home (like the dark cave of teenagers).  She enjoys human company and joins us at the desk while we work or on the couch for a side snuggle. In the evenings she enjoys cuddling up on our laps for a movie or sleeping beside us on our pillow. I recommend she get her own pillow-she takes up a lot of space for a tiny girl.

We have other pets in our home and while she is fine with them, she doesn’t seek out their company. We feel she would be fine with other pets as long as they give her space to be on her own.

During the day, she is usually cuddled up on a heat mat in her cat tree enjoying watching the birds. We have a catio and she doesn’t tend to access it. She is quite happy with the indoor life.

Misto is looking for a home with extra pillows and a comfortable lap. Apply today!
