At 4.5 years old, Pecorino is equal parts goofball and snugglebug. He lives for tug, fetch, and puzzle toys—and when the games are done, he’ll curl up close for belly rubs and quiet time. Around his foster home, he’s known for his signature happy bum wiggle that never fails to brighten the day. 🥰

Pecorino is a smart, food-motivated guy who knows his basics, is fully house- and crate-trained, and walks well on leash. He’s also an adventure buddy through and through—he’s tried swimming, paddleboarding, camping, hiking and even fishing, and while he sometimes gives his foster a “you’re sure about this?” look, he’s always game to try with a little encouragement (and a few snacks). 🎣🏕️

When it comes to meeting new people, Pecorino likes to take things slow. Out on walks, he’s easygoing—happy to pass by politely or pause for a quick sniff if given the choice. In the home, though, unexpected guests can make him nervous. With help from a trainer, he’s learning that visitors = treats and calm vibes, and his confidence continues to grow. Meeting people outside first or entering together helps a lot, but he’ll do best in a home without constant comings and goings.

He’s also polite with other dogs at a distance and generally indifferent, though he can react if barked or lunged at first. Pecorino generally prefers people to other dogs, so needs to be the only dog in the home and wouldn’t enjoy public off-leash parks. He has met cats who were confined and was pretty polite. He may be able to live with dog-savvy cats, after slow introductions, starting with complete separation & scent exchanges.

Pecorino is looking for a calm home with adults or dog-savvy kids 15+ who understand that patience and predictability are the way to his heart.
