Dax is the definition of a velcro dog — wherever you go, he wants to be right there beside you. He absolutely adores his people and has the biggest heart. He’s affectionate, cuddly, gentle with treats, and loves giving hugs and face kisses. If you’re looking for a shadow and best friend all wrapped into one goofy body, Dax is your guy.

He’s house trained, kennel trained for both daytime and nighttime, and once he’s in his kennel he settles beautifully and sleeps quietly through the night. (Catching him to get him in there can sometimes be the real workout 😂). He rarely barks, greets visitors nicely, has no food aggression, and even lets you wipe his feet after being outside without any fuss.

Dax is brave, confident, and hilariously unaware of his own size. He twists himself into the weirdest positions and keeps everyone laughing with his goofy personality. He loves walks, loves people, and also knows how to fully relax and snuggle when it’s time to wind down.

Like any lovable 1.5 year old pup, Dax is still working on his manners. He can get excited and jump on people, tables, likes to drinks from the toilet and occasionally believes household items like hats, pens, and random objects are actually dog toys 😉 He knows his name, understands “no,” and comes when called… most of the time lol. He’s smart and eager to be with his people, so with consistency and a little training, he’ll catch on quickly.

Dax is good with children over 8 and has been incredibly sweet with them. While he hasn’t officially been tested with younger kids or other animals yet, we personally wouldn’t hesitate to continue exposing him to younger children because of his friendly, loving temperament.

One thing to note: Dax currently marks inside the house at times, which we are hopeful will improve once he is neutered and settled into a routine.

At the end of the day, Dax is just a big-hearted, goofy cuddle bug looking for someone to love him forever. He is nicest “bad boy” around 🖤
