Slightly timid

Meet Tamale, a brave and independent little kitty with a shy and sensitive spirit.

Tamale is a tiny, gentle cat with a calm and quiet nature. Despite being shy, she quickly established herself in her new foster home, and has shown that she’s not the type to hide away from people. Instead, she’s a “take charge” kind of cat. She immediately made it clear that she prefers to be out and about in a large area, preferably one with a soft sofa and a view out the window!  She takes the presence of humans in stride, and people sitting close to her, sudden movements and even loud noises don’t seem to bother her at all.

At the moment Tamale isn’t that interested in interacting with people. She will accept a few gentle pets as she grows in confidence, but unwanted touching may cause her to flinch and be a bit hissy and growly. This is  just her way of telling you that she’s not quite ready for close physical contact. And while she gets along OK with the resident cat, she would probably be happiest as the only cat in the household.

One thing Tamale really does enjoy is her food. She will follow you around the house to see if it’s mealtime yet, or to see if she can score some extra treats. She is also starting to show an interest in playing with her feather wand toys.

Tamale would do best in a calm, patient and cat-experienced home, one that would allow her the time to develop confidence  in being able to safely interact with people. With time, Tamale has all the potential to become a happy, loving and trusting cat companion.

If you’re looking for the rewarding experience of earning the trust of a shy cat, and for a loyal friend who will quietly fill your life with love, Tamale may be an ideal match. 🐾
