About Goose
Moderately shy
Hi, my name is Goose, but perhaps I should have been named after a different bird: the Chicken!
I am the handsomest guy in the perfect shade of orange cream with the most intense golden eyes. I have a very regal look to my face but my fluffy coat makes me look more like a teddy bear.
Being in the shelter left me quite confused and defensive, but I have come a long way in the first week in foster. After four straight days of living under the bed, I progressed to sleeping -on- the bed which is much more comfortable. I still choose the safety of my hiding spot if there are sudden loud noises or movements, but I’m getting braver every day. I’ve become grudging friends with the resident cat and he’s showing me how to play with toys and where the best places in the house are to run around when we get the zoomies. Occasionally now we’ll play full contact, full volume cat toy football which is exactly as hilarious as it sounds.
For a timid cat, I am actually quite curious and will explore every inch of my new surroundings, but I’m not the type to climb the curtains or harvest the houseplants. I have excellent litterbox habits and do a very good job of keeping myself well groomed. I can be a very vocal guy and will have entire conversations with (or sometimes without) you. I really do enjoy head and chin scratches and love being petted when it is my decision to come to you. I can be enticed to socialize with a lickable treat and eventually I will likely be a very snuggly cat.
Changing homes is hard for me and I would be so grateful for very patient people who would finally give me a calm and relaxed forever home that I can settle into one last time and fully develop my confidence. It takes me some time to adjust, so I need a home that understands how rewarding it feels when I do start showing my trust and seeking out companionship and cuddles.
Do you have the right home to help me develop my trust in my family completely and become the sweet, loving guy I really want to be? xo Goose
