Moderately shy

Meet Vixen, a shy little boy who is desperate to be loved.

He came to us terrified and hiding all the time. By day 4, he was comfortable with us being in the room when he was out if we didn’t move towards him, but after just over a week, and lots of treats, he started to actually come to us for treats and cuddles. Now that we have had him for just over 2 weeks, he is confident enough to run around our house purring, and showing showing signs of really wanting love and cuddles but doesn’t know if he can fully trust us yet.  He will still run away if you’re too quick to approach him, or bend down fast to pet him.

We have many resident cats who love kittens and when he sees them, he is much more confident to come out of his room, rubbing against them and playing with them. He is still learning what toys are and so often prefers to play with the other cats rather than toys.

We are currently working on picking him up and getting him to sit on/near us, but he isn’t quite confident enough for that yet – he is getting better! He ADORES licky treats and food in general, so he is easy to persuade onto your lap as long as food is involved.

Vixen needs a young, gentle, confident companion who will help him settle into your home and be his playmate. He is definitely more confident with other cats than humans at this point and having another cat will make him settle quicker and be a lot less stressful for him. He needs a calm house; young kids are likely too much for him but he does fine with older ones who know to approach him slowly and quietly.
