Hi there, I’m Tess, and even though I’m small in size, my foster mom says my heart is bigger than most! She even told me I’m the most loving dog she’s ever known (and honestly, I believe her).

My favorite things in the world are snuggling close to my foster mom, belly rubs, playing with squeaky toys, and enjoying lick mats loaded with peanut butter or other tasty treats. I’m a total cuddle bug who loves being near my people.

When I first arrived, I thought the big, busy world was pretty scary. Walks used to make me nervous — all those sights, sounds, and strangers! But guess what? I’ve come a long way. Now, I love going on walks and taking in all the wonderful smells. Sometimes I even want to keep walking when it’s time to go home! I still get a little shy when new people pass by but that’s okay; I am brave and can keep going with my walks. When it comes to any strangers, you just need to have some patience with gradual introductions so I can learn to trust at my own pace. 

I’m also working on feeling safe when I’m left alone. I’m making progress, but I’ll need my forever family to keep helping me build that confidence.
