Spike came into AARCS care needing treatment for life threatening bladder stones. This brave little guy underwent emergency surgery to save his life. Spike is a strong and brave dog who has had a remarkable recovery but will need to be monitored for possible reoccurrence of bladder stones despite his special diet. Spike also had 17 teeth removed!!

Despite everything Spike is a fun loving dog, he enjoys long walks, play, a lot of attention, and burrowing under blankets. Spike continues to try to get the cat to play with him and we suspect he may enjoy a dog friend to play with. Spike has been doing very well learning he does not have to bark at everyone person or dog we see on our walks, and is very treat motivated. Spike would most likely do best with older kids because he likes to protect his harness and toys.
