About Winona

Hi, I’m Winona, will you be my friend?

Life for me was a bit scary at times and then I found AARCS and things are looking better! I like people; you keep me warm and safe… and rub my tummy. I need to check you out at first and make sure you’re ok but once you pass my detailed checklist, we will be friends.

I like to play with string that you flick around the floor. I also like scrunchy crinkle balls and to play in tunnels… and belly rubs! I know you don’t always want to play with me 24/7 – I don’t want that either – so I’ll leave you alone while I hang out on my own in one of my spots being zen until we’re both ready. My foster mom works at home during the day and I don’t bug her much.

I know you don’t nap like I do and need your sleep when it is dark. I like that too. I might make sure you’re tucked in for the night and occasionally like to snuggle in with you and get some belly rubs, but I’m happy to have a spot of my own on the bed or elsewhere until morning. Mostly I just want to have a home that I can call my own and a warm place to watch the world go by… and tummy rubs. Maybe my foster parents can tell you something else.

Foster parent notes: Winona is a fantastic little cat who deserves a great home. As she says, she is a social cat who likes to be around you once she gets to know you. When we brought her into the house, she took a couple days to decompress from the shelter and then started to explore. She initially did seem to like a quieter house as louder noises did surprise her. She’s gotten more used to that quickly and is fairly relaxed. We do think she’s better suited for a more relaxed, quiet household but with time she’d adapt. We wouldn’t say she’s a truly shy cat but she’s more cautious or wary of new people or sounds at first.

She is a very undemanding cat. She will come visit us during the day to see what we are up to and will hop up on the couch in the evening for a quick cuddle. As she says, she does like play time and really likes belly rubs. She’d make a good cat for various households from new owners to experienced ones. In the short time we’ve had her we’ve grown attached and if we were looking to adopt, she’d be high on our list. Just look at that cute face and the distinct pattern, what’s not to love?

Winona deserves a great home to have her best life at. Apply today and you may be the lucky one to take her home where she will definitely brighten your days!
