About Bart

Hi! My name is Bart. I want to think I’m “Big Bad Bart” but I’m definitely more of a cute little Bartholmewmew. My other nickname is Cashmere because my gorgeous orange coat and my beautiful brush of a tail are so incredibly soft and silky.  I am a medium level floof which does mean that I need a little extra care and attention to coat maintenance but I do love being combed and petted which helps keep my fur in tip top shape.  I am a light creamsicle shade of orange tabby, more of a strawberry blonde than a true red head.

I am a super social little guy and an explorer cat extraordinaire.  My profile may call me an adult but I still have a lot of young cat energy and I’m extremely fun and entertaining with all my hijinks.  I will play with -anything- that rolls across the ground in front of me.  I mean actual cat toys are okay, but a runaway grape that falls off the counter? Entertainment value for hours!

When I’m not being an energetic little clown, I like to be up as high as I can get in the cat condo or looking out the window to see the action.  When things get quiet and the people are being boring, I’ll sneak in a catnap face down in my blanket or curled up on their legs at night.  I prefer to play with you rather than snuggle, but I do love the head scratches and am becoming more accepting every day of being picked up for cuddles and kisses.

I am meticulous about using my litter box and tidy with my food.  I am on a special diet right now because I was pretty stressed out about being in the shelter environment (a cat like me needs room to play!) but I’ve had no tummy troubles since coming into my foster home.  I do love to vent some of my energy by scratching, but given multiple scratching posts and some early supervision and training, I am really good about keeping my claws on the areas I’m supposed to.  I show no interest in harvesting the houseplants or climbing the curtains, but I will absolutely dust the top of your refrigerator and inspect the inside of your dishwasher while I do my initial exploration of new surroundings.

I am definitely best suited to an active home with lots of attention and lots of playtime.  I have done okay as a solo foster cat, but I would likely really enjoy having another feline companion to play with.

Put in an application for your entertaining little Creamsicle cat today! xo Bart
