Meet Ellie – a timid, but playful, little explorer who thrives with patience, kindness, and a cozy spot by your side.

“Hi there! I’m Ellie, though I am known as Icelyn at AARCS. But I much prefer Ellie, and that’s what my foster parents call me now, so I respond to that name super well! I’m 3.5 months old and already learning so much. I’m fully potty trained, and I’ll give you the cues when it’s time for me to go outside. You can count on me!

I’m a little adventurer who LOVES the outdoors, especially jumping and playing in the snow. If you want to see me really shine, just throw a toy, and I’ll happily fetch it. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, I’ll even bring it back to you (I’m still figuring that part out!). I’ve got a few favorite toys that I could play with all day long, but I also love a good cuddle session. I’m super sweet and love being close to my people.

I’m also extremely gentle and a bit timid. When meeting new people, I feel most comfortable starting in my kennel. If they sit on the floor and let me come to them at my own pace, I’ll happily approach when I’m ready. I met a cat once and stayed in my kennel, quietly observing. My fosters aren’t sure how I’d do with other dogs, but given my timid nature, they believe I’d get along fine with proper slow introductions. Patience and a little extra time to adjust go a long way in helping me feel at ease.

I’ve recently been spayed, and I’ve had all my shots, so I’m in tip-top shape! I’m still a puppy, so I’m learning how to use my voice. I don’t bark much, but when I do, it’s for a good reason. My foster parents tell me I’m super smart, and I love to learn. With some consistent training, I’m sure I can master anything!
