About Tina
I adjusted really quickly to my new foster home. From the very beginning, I had no separation anxiety and didn’t get into any mischief when I was left alone for an hour or two. Well, okay, my foster mom did find out that I sneak onto her bed while she’s away (it smells just like her!), but because I’m near perfect in other ways, she’s forgiven me. And it was a little sneaky of her – she felt her bed right after I greeted her at the door, and it was warm. Oops.
It took a few days for my foster mom to realize that I’m not crazy about early morning walks, although of course I comply when she insists. Much to her delight, she found out that I’d rather snooze a couple more hours while she enjoys a slow morning with her coffee. What’s with these humans who have to pee every few hours? I can hold it for well over twelve!
Now, let’s talk about other dogs. I’m super curious about them and I love the careful sniffing, leash-tangling ritual when I meet them. I sometimes desperately want to play, but as a foster dog, I’m not allowed off leash in public places. Besides, I can get overwhelmed if a dog is over-exuberant or rambunctious, so I may need to build my confidence a little more before being turned loose! I’m a pacifist at heart, so I don’t care for conflict and don’t initiate it. And my foster mom plies me with yummy treats around other dogs, which is quickly boosting my confidence. I can’t wait for the day when I’ll be able to handle off-leash play with other dogs.
My perfect home will be with people who appreciate my gentle nature and are willing to maintain and build my confidence with training and lots of cuddles. I love to explore the outdoors, so I’ll be a great fit for a home that can provide me with lots of exercise. I sleep a lot, but I also love walks around my neighborhood, and I’m looking forward to being taken on a hike or a jog.
I’m working on basic commands and recall, and I’m progressing quickly, thanks to my love for treats. I do really well on a leash and am getting better every day, with squirrels being the biggest challenge!
I’m a sweet and gentle soul, mature beyond my year-plus – bringing puppies into the world does that to a dog! All I need from you is security, understanding, and love. If you need a loyal, loving, and playful companion who will fill your life with joy, you just may have found her!”
