About Langdon
My foster family says I’ve come such a long way from initially being afraid to leave the shelter. Now I can’t wait to go for walks each day. Some new things are a bit scary, and when I’m scared I want to go and hide, so I hope you will be patient with me in my learning journey.” – xo, Langdon
Langdon loves to go for walks but can be a bit nervous of new environments, or if other dogs or people approach unexpectedly. He is cautious and hesitant about meeting new people, and may bark and show conflicted behavior if they approach too quickly. Langdon’s adopters will need to help build his confidence, making each outing a positive experience for him. The foster family finds it is helpful to have treats at the ready, and to allow very gradual introductions to strangers.
Langdon will be a great walking or running buddy once he becomes more sure of himself. He loves to play and run zoomies in the yard, so a fenced yard is required for him. He has a very playful, goofy side when he feels secure and relaxed. Langdon’s ideal home could possibly include a calm & confident fur-sibling to help him settle in. He loves to play with the resident dog, but because he’s nervous of unfamiliar dogs, Langdon would be too overwhelmed in public off-leash parks at this time.
Langdon is well behaved in the house and has learned to become comfortable staying home alone with the resident dog for short periods, especially with a kong, toppl, or other snack filled treat. However, Langdon’s new family should understand that he can be nervous about being left alone and he will need time, patience and positive training to help him get used to the routines of his furever home.
Langdon is intelligent, affectionate, and eager to please. If you’re ready to welcome this beautiful, loving dog into your home and are willing to work on building his confidence, Langdon could be the perfect match for you!
