About Stout

“Best quality? My wiggles.

Hi I’m Stout, it’s nice to meet you! I was recently made a tri-pawd after a dislocated elbow, but that hasn’t stopped me one bit. I’ve had a pretty rough start to life that’s caused me to be really scared of a lot of things. I’m not a huge fan of having things tight around my neck, I’d prefer a harness with back attachment. I’m still getting used to the harness and leash so please be patient with me!

I love to run, jump and play, but I need a little encouragement and prefer to play with my dog friends. That being said, I need to be in a home with at least another dog to help show me the ropes and help me feel safe and secure!

Don’t let that stop you from thinking about bringing me home, though. Once I’m comfortable, I’m just as silly and fun as any other dog, it just takes a little time for me to warm up! Unfortunately, I’m really scared of small kids, I’d really like a home that only has adults or teenagers. My foster dad currently has me in a home with three cats, they’re cool to look at but don’t interest me much.

My foster dad also calls me “Mr. Wiggles” because when he gets home I wiggle with my whole body and a big smile in my face! I’m house trained and I have never made a mess, I always ask to go outside. Sometimes it takes a little coaxing, but I always go!

I’m a total snuggle bug and sleep with my foster dad in his bed when he lets me and I like to be anywhere that he is, I’m like a little shadow. I’ll sit pretty much anywhere my people are, but I’m very polite and don’t beg at the table and I’ll sit and wait for my dinner while it’s placed in front of me.

I’m only an email away, I can’t wait to be your new addition.” – xo, Stout

Do I Need Special Care?

Yes, Behavioral Special Needs - Stout is currently on an anxiety medication for his fear and is improving. His fear is much better with another dog in the home and with the anxiety medication. He will need a home that has lots of time for training and confidence boosting. He's very sweet and silly when he gets comfortable but needs kindness and patience.
