About Malt

Malt is a HAPPY, LOVING, approximately 1.5 year old girl who LOVES all people, other dogs and everyone she meets – adults or kids!

You know that person who says “GOOD MORNING” on Monday morning and is thrilled to be at work? That’s Malt! She is just so happy to be part of a family and to be loved. Since she is past the puppy stage, she is house trained, doesn’t chew your stuff (but loves a bone to chew on), and plays well with other dogs.

While she may no longer technically be a “puppy”, she has all the zest for life and love of a young puppy. She is food motivated making her easy to train!  She has already improved her leash manners significantly and readily goes in and out of the kennel. Malt is quiet while in her kennel and and generally quiet around the house – which is saying a lot since her two foster brothers like to bark at anything walking by the house!

She is learning to “wait” for her food and other commands. Malt is VERY smart and figures things out very quickly so you will need to keep adding to her vocabulary of commands. She sits patiently in the car when you travel with her and enjoys cooling off in the river.

Not much is known about Malt as she transferred in to AARCS from another shelter due to their over crowding. We honestly don’t understand why she wasn’t adopted at the previous shelter – she is a sweet, loving dog who would make a great addition to any family. She would do well with or without another dog and would be best with “pawrents” who can provide her with consistency and regular exercise. She would do well with someone in a hybrid work situation so she is not alone at home all week as she is a very social girl and needs that interaction.

Fill out an application to meet this lovely girl! Happy girl looking for fun and active forever home
