About Tanis

“Hi there! My name is Tanis. I’ve also been nicknamed Tanny or Baby by my loving foster parents. If I was in the doggy Olympics, I would certainly be a 3X Gold Medalist in the following categories: cuddling, belly rubs, and creative snoozing positions!

Although I can’t communicate in words with humans about what my past looked like, I have done my absolute best to ensure my foster family knows I would like my future to be filled with an abundance of LOVE! My little heart wants nothing more than to make my future furrever family happy. I want to share all the giggles and special moments with my future family and want them to know I will be right by their side soaking in all the belly rubs and love in their hearts. I am a love bug who is the perfect blend of playful and laid back.

I have been the best girl in my foster home. I let my foster family know when I need to go outside, I also keep the house in tip-top condition and provide window surveillance while they are away from home. I even have a special spot on the couch! I would love a spot in my foster parent’s bed as snuggling with them is simply the best, but…I respect that they prefer I sleep on my own bed *sigh* maybe one day I’ll get a spot on the human bed!

I have a senior black lab foster sister who I have grown very fond of. She helps me to be more confident around other dogs and has taught me how to play gently! I would be happy in a home with or without another dog. I would like a proper introduction with any future furry siblings to ensure I get along with them ok! Having company over? I am an excellent greeter who is friendly towards visitors in exchange for belly rubs.

As much as I like the comforts of home, I also love being outdoors and soaking up the sunshine in my backyard! My dream home has a big private backyard with lots or space for me to relax and play. I walk well on leash, but I do get nervous around other dogs and bicycles. Squirrels and rabbits also really excite me. I am working hard with my foster mom to overcome some of my fears. I am certain with a confident and patient owner that I will continue to gain confidence through my ongoing training! Did I mention I love car rides?! Seriously, they are the best! I like sticking my snout out the window for a sniff and letting the wind run through my floppy ears.

My typical day consists of waking my foster parents up, going for a walk, taking multiple naps and window watching, and of course, enjoying my outside time. I like to squeeze a game or two of fetch in there with some playtime with my foster sister. I usually end the day cuddled up on the couch with my foster family.

I promise I will love you with my whole heart, it’s bursting with love! I am the sweetest girl and just need a family who will love me back. I can’t wait to meet you!” – xo, Tanis
