Hi! My name is
I’m an Animal in Care at AARCS
Date of Birth
May 29, 2021
Jackson is a lovely Golden Retriever, with his playful personality and zest for life it went almost unnoticed that he was deaf! This has since been tested by the vet team at AARCS and is confirmed.
Jackson would do best in a home that is either experienced working with deaf dogs, or are patient and understanding. Being unable to hear, Jackson does best with tactile (touch) and visual cues in training. He’s a great dog and is getting the hang of sitting for treats, following his owner, and potty training. He would do best in an adult home as verbal cues by children may be missed.
He plays well with other dogs and loves a rough and tumble style of play, sometimes he gets over excited and doesn’t quite know when to take a break. He would greatly benefit from guidance from his humans in this, as he can’t hear common dog tell-offs such as growling or barking. He would do best in an active home, that enjoys hiking, running, and other activities.
He’s a quick learner, whose walking, sits, crating, and potty training are all improving quickly. He’d love to learn with you!
