Hi! My name is
I’m an Animal in Care at AARCS
Date of Birth
February 23, 2021
Koda is a happy, goofy two year old who loves people. He came to AARCS via an eastern Alberta SPCA. This handsome guy is fully house trained, and well mannered in the house. He follows his people everywhere . . . including the shower if you let him (!)
His favorite thing is to snuggle on the couch with his people as they watch TV. Sometimes he forgets how big he is and will try to curl up on your lap. He sleeps in his crate and will just sleep or look out the window when left alone in the house. . . although he will jump for joy when you return.
Koda is generally very good on leash, but if he sees a squirrel or another dog you’d better hang on tight! A harness is helpful, but even better is a yummy treat to distract him and get him refocused on the planned route. Koda is very playful but can be selective. He will get along with most dogs with a proper introduction. Koda’s favourite game is fetch. He is very good about bringing his toy back so that you can throw it again. He will even play fetch with himself with sticks he finds in the yard LOL.
Koda came in with an infected inverted nipple which has healed well. He has no other health issues and is very trainable. He does not hoover down his dinner, but will eat any treat – good thing because he figured out early how to eat around his antibiotic pill. He has a movie star smile and loves to chew on his rubber toys or bully sticks to keep them clean.
Koda is looking for an active home who will take him on walks and other adventures. He loves car rides. He is good with children but because of his size he should be walked by a strong adult who can hold on if he sees a squirrel or another dog. A home with no small animals and a fenced yard would be required. Fosters cannot go to off leash areas, but we suspect he would have more fun running at his own pace.
If you are looking for a loyal and happy companion, Koda is the guy for you!
