About August

Happy girl looking for love!!

August is a happy girl that loves love! She is very affectionate and loves lots of attention. August came into AARCS’ care with a sever case of Cherry eye. She has undergone 2 surgeries to correct it, and you will still notice her eyes are different than other dogs. It does not slow her down though!

Although she loves people, she does get a bit startled with sudden movements or loud noises, and would need someone with patience to help her work through that and build her confidence.

Currently August is living with a resident dog who she adores. When she first came into my care Ace (resident dog) didn’t want anything to do with her. She persisted with him to get him to play, and be comfortable with her cuddling up to her. Her persistence paid off, and now they are great friends. However, she can be dog selective and would need proper introductions to determine if she would get along with another dog in the home.

August gets excited to grab your attention and will paw at you, and poke her nose into your side for attention. At this time I would recommend children to be 16 and older until she gets her excitement under control.

August loves walks as most dogs do, she loves to take her time and sniff out all points of interest. She has learnt to sit, and needs to continue learning other good behaviors.  Fortunately this girl is very food motivated!

August is looking for her forever home with forever love. She has made me laugh with her silly grunting, and yawning noises as she is trying to communicate with me. I can’t wait to see her find her people and continue to grow her confidence and spread her love.
