About Stifler

“Hi, my name is Stifler. I came into AARCS’ care from a local veterinary clinic after being surrendered because I was sick. I am shy and will need a calm and slow initial introduction. Trust is an issue to me at first, but once I am comfortable I am a happy dog!

I tend to be quiet and shut down in new environments – I may tuck myself up and hide away from you until I feel comfortable. I can be hesitant with things like passing thresholds such as doorways, and need some gentle encouragement with the help of some hot dogs. Right now I am being fostered in a rural area outside of the city and I love it! I am certainly a dude suited to a calm, quieter environment. I’m not a dog park or city kind of dog at all.

A home with a yard would be best for me, or a townhouse where I can have my own space. I would do best with older or no kids, ones who really understand I may not want to be their best friend right away. A kind and patient home would be ideal, one who understands my needs. I’ve met a dog my size and done well, but my fosters think I would do best without any small pets in the home.

I can be excitable on leash, and may bark at strange people who enter my safe space. You can help me through this by showing me scary things mean hot dogs come my way! I may take a moment to adjust, but once I do we are good to go!

With a little patience to develop my trust, I shall become your best buddy!” – xo, Stifler
