Hi! My name is
I have an Adoption Application Pending!
Date of Birth
February 5, 2013
Roger is a quiet, gentle dog who enjoys spending his days keeping guard (aka napping) by his foster’s desk while they work from home, taking the occasional break to go for a wander around the house, and lets out little huffs when he would like to go outside. Roger is fully house trained and sleeps from around 10pm to 6-8am depending on if it’s a weekday or weekend (because who doesn’t like to sleep in on the weekend??). Besides his meals, he isn’t really food motivated and ignores most human food. Except cheese. He loves cheese and will gently take it from you. He also likes exploring the backyard and going for walks, snuffling everything he can along the way! Because of an old injury he has to his right hind leg, he is more a “stroll through the park” type guy, than a marathon runner.
Roger has a few fun quirks including being picky about what stairs he likes to do, enjoys eating in peace (no guarding, but will stop eating if you are close or watching him), and has some sensitivities around his back end (nice pats and scritchies are fine, but will tuck in his backend if surprised when touched), so a home with fewer stairs and older or no children would be best. He is also sensitive to loud noises at first – as was discovered on smoothie day with the blender, but now he just gives it the side-eye from his bed.
He also hasn’t had a chance to meet any other dogs while in foster, but will calmly pass them while on walks so he may do ok with another calm dog or would be quite happy to be your one and only! His keen interest in the local rabbits suggest that a cat-free home may be best for him. Despite his quiet demeanor, Roger does have a fun, goofy side and will often get the afternoon zoomies and finds people much more interesting to be around than any toy.
Having had some upheaval in his later years, Roger can take a little while to warm up – as would any savvy doggo who would like to know what your intentions are. But once he knows that you are there to shower him with all the love and “good boys”, he will follow you everywhere and would like nothing more than to snuggle up with you for movie night.
All around good boy!
