About Virna

“Hello! My name is Virna and you can call me Detective Virna as I’m getting more and more curious about the world.

When you first meet me you will see I’m a little timid but with time we will be best friends!  I am a really good sleeper at night in my crate. I love to eat and I even sit patiently while I wait, but I need work on some manners around food!.

My biggest thing I am working on right now is that I am fearful of new people, so I will bark and try to tell them to go away. Once I trust you and know you only are here to give me good things, I will be your best friend! I currently live in a foster home with kids but prefer a slow approach as I can be nervous of sudden movements, so I would do best in a home with no kids. The traffic would just make me nervous over time!

Please let me meet people at my own speed. I currently live with two large dogs and I love them, and gain a lot of confidence from them! Everyone agrees, I must go to a home with another medium to large sized dog who can teach me confidence and to be brave. I need a home with a yard while I work on confidence, no apartments for me please!

I have done well with the cat in the home, but he is very tolerant of me, so I don’t know that cats can teach me “manners” just yet.

My foster mom has put a tiny leash on me in the yard and I have walked around but I have not been on proper walks yet. I might be too nervous for this right now, but it will be a work in progress. I feel ok in my crate most of the times but sometimes I just want to play so I let my foster mom know but end up curling up and having a nap.

I am the sweetest pup when I get to know you, but I need a very patient, calm and experienced family to help show me the ropes.

I am looking forward to finding my furever home. I hope that’s you!” – xo, Virna
