About Fisher

When Fisher’s owner had to surrender him through no fault of his own, we were excited to have him back in our home. This is our second time with this sweet, friendly, playful guy.

Fisher first came to us in December 2020 from Saskatchewan and we could tell he spent most of his time outside because he was a little crazy indoors. But he has settled right down and is very well behaved inside (except for a few attempts at counter surfing).

We did some crate training early on but he prefers to sleep on the couch, and he stays there all night. He behaves well with dogs his size, although he tends to get pretty excited at first.

No small dogs or cats! Fisher has a strong prey instinct and will try to chase cats, rabbits and squirrels so you need a tight grip on the leash. When he first came in he had been quilled, so he gets excited when he sees small things.

He loves walks but he likes to pull. He can sometimes react when he sees other dogs on leash, but it’s not always consistent – he may bark if the other dog barks first. Fisher LOVES being outside and his former owner said off- leash parks are his favourite.

Fisher would love an active family that likes to be outdoors. Must have a fenced yard. Even better -a farm or an acreage. Fisher likes kids, but can be a bit too excited, so kids 12+ would be best.
