Hi! My name is
I’m an Animal in Care at AARCS
Date of Birth
November 19, 2016
I’ve been healing from a torn ACL, so I haven’t been able to go out for much of a walk or many adventures so I’ve been hanging out in the backyard. I find it peaceful to sit by the gate in the backyard and look at the bustle of the neighbourhood. My foster mom tells me she is proud of me as I don’t bark at the neighbours.
As a shepherd cross, I have a natural protective instinct. I get nervous when strangers come in the house; however, I warm up to women more quickly than men. I am also not always comfortable when my foster mom’s resident dog comes near me, especially if it’s abrupt, and I sometimes get jealous if he is trying to steal my foster mom’s attention.
I’m completely house trained and have never had an accident in the house. I am also crate trained and will go into a crate with a little nudge. If you leave the house, I may whine and bark a little to let you know that I will miss you but I settle down quickly once you leave and enjoy the extra zzzzzs. Although my favourite spot in the whole house is the couch; I like to stretch out and nap there during the day while my mom is working.
My foster mom tells me I’m the sweetest and most compassionate and loyal dog. I’d love to be yours!” – xo, Marcus

He has been protective when my resident dog comes too close especially if its abrupt, although sometimes they are fine laying next to each other. Some of this behaviour may be due to Marcus' injury.
