Hi! My name is
Date of Birth
September 4, 2005
When first brought into AARCS, they estimated I was 15. My foster parents think I might be younger but in rough shape. I was found wandering and my foster mother does believe I had an owner at one point as I do love men a lot.
I live in a very busy foster home. There are two toddlers who love me a lot who I also let brush me and fuss over me. As I have a bit of a startle response and arthritis, older kids may be best for me but if your children are respectful of an old guy, we could make it work. I also live with 3 dogs; 2 big dogs and 1 tiny Chihuahua so I’m pretty good with other dogs. Since having my surgery, I have come out of my shell a lot. I wag my tail all the time now, and try playing with the other dogs occasionally and I’m always looking for love.
I really don’t need walks as my back end is weaker. Potentially walks could be in my future as I am getting stronger though. I am a little deaf so my foster family whistles and claps while calling my name, so I am usually pretty good at finding them. I am also quite blind. I can see but usually its movement once you are about so many feet away from me. At night you may have to help me find my way back inside because when it’s dark I get lost easily.
I need a home with a yard, so I can go outside to do my business easily and you won’t get in trouble if I am vocal when you leave. I thrive with other dogs and love having more dogs around me – this will help me figure my new life out, so a home with another chill dog is a must! No crazy young puppies or rowdy dogs please. I do love my food – I am very eager to get the bowl and finish it as fast a possible. My family has been working with me to be gentle and calm. This will need more work though.
Because of the rougher shape I’m in, I will need pain meds going forward for the rest of my life. I’m looking to be your perfect chill at home dog. I’m a great companion and just want love and a family. If you are looking for your Netflix and chill buddy, thats me!” – xo, Chance
