About Burtis

“Hello, my name is Burtis! I am around 10 yrs old. I came into AARCS’ care with many other small shy dogs like me. I am learning how to dog and I am scared of many things in this world. I will need someone who will work with me and has lots of patience. I will be a cuddle bug when I get to know you!

I love being with other dogs, and will need a small or medium sized dog friend of my own to help me come out of my shell in my new home. I currently live with a cat but I enjoy chase a little too much, so no cats for me please! I am also nervous and fearful of sudden movements and sounds, so I would do best in a home without children. I have lots of love to give but I have a hard time showing it at first! Once I trust you, I am a happy dog. I am still nervous of new people that may come into the home and that try to meet me.

I am still a little bit flighty and working on house training, so a home with a very secured yard would be great for me to learn with as you don’t want to lose a small guy like me. I have gone on a couple of leashed walks but the world is still very big so they are a work in progress.

I will need a calm, patient and loving home willing to gain my trust, and work with me long term until I feel comfortable and happy! I may be scared little guy but have lots of love to give!” – xo, Burtis
