About Tripp

“Hi, Tripp here! I accidently Tripped into a snare a while back and found myself in AARCS’ care for several weeks while they fixed me up. Unfortunately, this caused me to lose the end bit of a couple toes but you would hardly notice; I walk and run perfectly fine and I never Tripp. Since it’s still a recent injury, it can get a little tender when I go for walks.

My foster mom thinks I look and act like a puppy because I toss my toys all over the place and because I’m just so cute! I sometimes get a little excited and mouthy when I play, so I will need some training to curb that, but I’m really smart so it shouldn’t take too long! Because I have not been a fan of handling in the past (who can blame me, my foot really hurt!) I should go a home with older kids only.

But you should see me now! I am well on my way to being a perfect pup however, and have already learned that receiving a treat requires me to sit and lay down!  I particularly love beef liver bites; they’re my favourites! I am proud to say that I walk very well on a leash; though I like to smell and leave my mark on everything! I don’t react to other dogs when we go for walks and I have yet to bark in my foster mom’s presence. In the shelter I did well with another dog but I was a little growly in my play so I think I scared him at first – I would probably do okay with another playful like minded dog! At night, I sleep in my crate silently, I wouldn’t want to wake anyone.

I can’t wait to meet you!” – xo, Tripp

Do I Need Special Care?

Both, Medical and Behavioral - Tripp had to have a portion of his toes amputated due to a previous injury. He was not a fan of handling initially, but he has since done much better as he is no longer in pain.
