About Camile

“Hi I’m Camile! My foster mom calls me the Camilinator because I am a wild child ready to take on the world! I came into AARCS’s care from Saskatchewan as I was stuck in the shelter for a while there. I was found as a stray, and they believed I was an under-socialized pup as I am still figuring the world out.

I am a high, HIGH energy kinda girl! Run, play, bounce around all day! I am not a regular puppy, I am a born to work kind of breed – so please only apply if you have this kind of experience with dogs like me! I will need work, training, and lots of exercise. I can be mouthy, so I will need a home willing to work on this with me too.

Because of this, I need another tolerant (read: deal with puppy kinda tolerant) dog in the home to help keep me busy and stop me from bothering you all day! I love to wrestle and play with my stuffy toys with my foster sister, who is a 1-year-old pitty mix. Sometimes we like to grab either side of the toy and pull as hard as we can! I am learning how to play nice with other dogs, as sometimes I like to spear tackle, growl and jump on their backs – which needless to say my foster mom tells me is a little rude but since I am a puppy I get a free pass – for now. Because of this, dog parks are a “no” for me as other dogs may not be so nice about it. I need a friend to play with but who tells me when I am too rowdy! Right now, we work on taking naps in between playtimes to keep my mayhem at a manageable level. Foster mom says I need to learn an “off” switch, and well, I don’t quite know what that is yet.

I am crate trained and sleep through the night in my crate in my foster’s room. I am working on house training but I am still a pup, so some accidents may happen! I love food and treats, and am highly food motivated. I am SMART, let me tell ya. On the first day I already figured out that if I lay nicely in the kitchen, I get a treat, but if I “counter surf” I get nothing. Because the world still spooks me sometimes, I would do best in a home with a yard. I am in an apartment right now but loud noises and all the goings-on make me really confused sometimes. Downtown is a busy place, too busy for me while I figure this whole “life” thing out.

I walk great on-leash and am happy to wander and explore at your pace. I am a happy young girl but would love to find a family of my own who can provide me with continued training and socialization, and some structure so I can learn how to truly be the best dog I can be.” – xo, Camile
