About Nook

“Hi, my name is Nook – I’m glad you have come to take a look!  I’m a quirky girl who loves my person more than anything. I have two foster sisters at the moment, and I don’t really know what to make of them,… but as long as I have my person, I’m happy!

I’m pretty easy going really, I love cuddles, don’t chew, beg, or bark unless there is something to bark at. A lot of foods make my tummy feel not great, but if I get the right stuff… I’m good. I love my walks, and don’t pull on a leash, and I think I might like to try being a jogging partner!  I’m pretty athletic after all!” – xo, Nook

Nook is a sensitive soul who has had a ruff time the last few months… she is learning to trust people again. Deep down she LOVES people, she just needs to trust them and she really really wants to. She is happiest on walks and cuddling up on the couch/bed. She may be happiest as a single doggo as she is quite happy to have all of her person’s attention!  She is fine with my quiet Labs, but doesn’t really seem to mind if they are there or not!  She has no guarding or jealous behaviour at all.

She seems like she needs more socialization with other dogs as she will be dominant towards them (especially larger dogs, little dogs she seems fine). She doesn’t have much interest in toys. She is quiet in the house and very reliably house trained.

Good with Cats?

Not tested with Cats

Good with Dogs?

Ok with foster dogs, not sure about others, has shown some discomfort

Good with Kids?

Kids 12+ Only

Do I Need Special Care?

Yes, Behavioral Special Needs - Nook is fearful/timid in nature. She was originally found on a reserve and may be lacking early socialization that could contribute to her fearfulness. She would benefit from patient and committed adopters
