About Charles

Charles came from the Northwest Territories with a splint on his broken leg. He was on extended crate rest for quite a long while. Luckily his leg healed while in care and he’s quite the bouncy puppy now.

“Hey there! I’m Charles, I’m a quick get-up-and-go type puppy! I’m highly motivated and would love to learn all about dog sports! My foster home would say I can be quite full of spunk. As a Border Collie puppy, I’m just full of life and have the need to get to things in 2.5 seconds. I’m speedy gonzalez! I did suffer from a broken leg as a younger puppy, but that doesn’t hold me back at all. I am still quite young, so another dog to play with or doggy daycare are both great opportunities for me to get out to socialize. I absolutely LOVE food and treats. I LOVE slow feeder puzzles, kong wobblers and ice cubes.

I do tend to get over-excited around food and treats, so it’s best to set me up in a safe space where I can enjoy them without having to worry about someone possibly eyeing up my goodies. I’m currently rocking basic obedience skills such as sit, touch, down and leave-it with a piece of kibble. I play a ton with my foster sibling, she loves the ball and I love to play. I am still a puppy so I do explore the world and play via mouth. I’m learning other ways to ask for attention and tell my fosters when I’m feeling overstimulated. For this reason, a kid free home is best for me at this time. I’m an absolute lovebug! I’m very interested in finding a family that has a job for me to do. Whether that is dog sports such as frisbee or flyball, herding, trick training or fetching the mail.” – XO Charles

Do I Need Special Care?

Both, Medical and Behavioral Charles was on extended crate rest, while he was healing from a broken leg. Due to this he can get over-excited quickly and explore the world via mouth. Food and treats are highly important to him, he will need a quiet space, away from others, to enjoy his goodies.
