Dog of the Week Adoption Fee: $100 for one week

Gizmo is a super friendly pup who’s energy is infectious! He would be a great addition to any family!

Gizmo is a five year old larger Shepard/Lab cross. He is an incredibly energetic dog, who can calm down really quickly and he LOVES meeting new people. Sometimes he gets so excited and will jump up on new people and dance around them! Gizmo loves to play tug of war, fetch, and or course, getting his belly rubbed. Walks are a breeze as he likes to mind his own business and will mostly ignore other passersby.

Ideally, Gizmo will need an energetic home with a large backyard to run and play in. At this time, Gizmo would be happiest as the only pet in the home as he is uncomfortable around dogs and has been in some scuffles in the past. He may be able to be introduced to other calm dogs in the future with some ongoing training – the AARCS Behaviour Team can tell you what that would look like. No dog parks for this guy! As he is non-reactive on leash, he makes a great walking or running companion – he just prefers to ignore other dogs on walks. An active family who goes outdoors (hiking, camping, walks) and doesn’t care for things like off leash parks would be great for Gizmo!

Gizmo has lived with kids in the past and done really well with them, but due to his size and bounciness, older kids are recommended – however if your kids are dog savvy and are okay with a big dog, let us know!

He is such an amazing dog, that he’s going to make someone’s family perfect!  We could all use a little Gizmo in our lives!
