About Steel
At just 8 months old, Steel is already a distinguished gentleman with a coat that absolutely screams silver fox. Not a soul walks by without commenting on his stunning colors—and Steel notices. He’ll sit and watch them leave, quietly reminiscing about the treats that could (and should) have been his. 💭
Steel loves a good game of fetch and proudly brings the ball back… though retrieving it from him requires quick reflexes or snack-based negotiations. Squeaky toys are another passion and will instantly activate his adorable head-tilt mode, side to side, like he’s processing very important information.
Now, let’s talk coordination. Steel is not overly graceful, and that’s part of his charm. He occasionally trips over his own feet, enthusiastically chases his tail, and is convinced his collar is a removable puzzle that must be solved. Athletic? Yes. Clumsy? Hard yes!!
Going outside is Steel’s favourite event of the day. The moment he sees his harness and leash, it’s pure joy. Walks often turn into people-watching sessions, where Steel is perfectly content sitting in the middle of the sidewalk, leash on, supervising the neighborhood like a tiny security guard. He watches everything. Sometimes this results in a brief Western-style standoff with something mildly suspicious (about 30 seconds). Treats dramatically reduce this time—Steel is very food motivated and open to peace talks.
Because of his dedication to neighborhood supervision, Steel takes his security guard duties seriously. When meeting new people, he’s a bit like an ’80s mullet—all business up front. But don’t be fooled: the party’s in the back, revealed by the joyous wag of his tail. Once you pass inspection (treats strongly recommended), the badge comes off and he transforms into a cuddly bundle of love who wants to be close and soak up affection.
His attention can be purchased with:
– Squeaky toys
– Any ball within his line of sight
– Treats (Beggin’ Strips are elite currency, but kibble works when needed)
– For longer scenic pauses, a carefully planned “treat path to grandmother’s house” may be required.
When not on duty, Steel loves cuddles, enjoys jogging, and sometimes prefers laying outside alone—mostly to remind passersby (vocally) that he’s just trying to enjoy a little peace and quiet.
Funny, affectionate, curious, a little clumsy, and endlessly entertaining—Steel truly is the best boy in all the land.
Steel’s Perfect Home 🏡
Steel would thrive in a home with:
1 Humans who understand that great relationships start with a brief mullet phase—all business at first, full party once you get to know him
2. People who don’t judge a serious face and notice the happy tail wagging behind it
3. Folks who enjoy walks, jogs, and extended people-watching breaks
4. Plenty of treats for training, encouragement, and passing security inspections
5.Patience for a young pup still learning the world, his feet, and why his collar absolutely refuses to come off
***Bonus points if you laugh easily, don’t mind stopping mid-walk so Steel can supervise the block, and appreciate a dog who brings big ’80s hairstyle energy to modern-day companionship.***
If you’re looking for a stunning young pup with silver-fox looks, a huge heart, and a personality that’s equal parts professional and party, Steel is ready to steal your heart—and maybe trip over it on the way. 🐶💙
