Scotty is a very sweet, gentle boy who came from a rural property. He and his brothers didn’t get a lot of exposure to things so he is still learning about the world! Scotty always tries his best to be brave, but sometimes new situations can be scary so he needs a family who can be patient with him while he continues to gain confidence.

Speaking of confidence, Scotty is the most confident when he can follow the lead of another dog. For this reason he must go into a home that already has a playful, confident and friendly dog who can help scotty burn off some energy, but also show him the world isn’t that scary of a place. Scotty came into foster care quite nervous of people, cars, and leashes, but completely transformed within a week! Now he loves to go for walks, play, and go for rides in the car. Scotty is looking for a family who will understand that going into a new situation might mean some regression in his confidence and will have the patience to bond with him and work with him until he’s back to his happy, carefree self!

Scotty finds the energy of young kids to be a little overwhelming. He is best to be placed in a home with older kids who understand how to be calm and patient with him until he settles in. Scotty also lives with two cats and despite liking to chase squirrels outside, is very polite and gentle with his cat siblings.

This boy is so special and deserves a loving and active home who is committed to helping him continue to flourish and burn off his teenage energy. Scotty is smart, and eager to please! He also loves his crate and is happy to spend time in there with a kong and peanut butter!
