Moderately shy

Hello! My name is Athena and while I may be shy at first, with patience and a calm environment, I will come out of my shell and you will see my personality shine!

While I am not a lap cat yet, I like to sit next to my foster mom and I love chin scratches, head kisses, and belly rubs! I also like to stick my tongue out and my foster mom thinks I’m quirky and cute! 

I am a bit nervous of loud sounds and quick movements and I hide when I am caught doing something I am not sure if I am allowed to do. I would be best in a calm, quiet environment that is supportive and can help me build my confidence. At first, I wasn’t sure what toys were for, but with patience and encouragement, I have learned that I can play with them. Now I love my catnip and honeysuckle toy and I play with it by myself when I get the zoomies! 

I have not met other cats, dogs or children and so I am not sure how well I would do living with them, but given my shyness, it might be best that I be the only pet in a quiet home. 

I am an equal mix of being independent and wanting affection. I can be a chatterbox and I will let you know when I am ready for some attention. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, and sometimes goofy companion, apply to adopt me today! xo Athena
