About Hilda

“My name is Hilda and my foster mom says I’m a spunky, active and sweet girl!

I came all the way from the NWT. Like my husky ancestors, I’m a happy, fun and active girl. I will need an adopter that can give me lots of activity and mental stimulation so I can thrive. But that’s okay, that just means I’d be a great mountain dog when I’m old enough. Not a fan of outdoor mountain activities? No problem! Let’s grab a coffee and have long walks in the city! I haven’t been walking yet as I’m still very little but I know I’ll love the activity when I’m old enough.

My foster mom also says I’m very smart so I’ll need mental stimulation. I really enjoy eating my lunches in a treat dispensing ball or a snuffle mat and that usually makes me sleepy afterwards.

My foster mom says I’m very spunky and have a big personality. I live with two big dog foster sisters that can be pretty rowdy but I have no problem keeping up with them. I’m not afraid to let them know when they’ve upset me.  I’m also good at letting my foster parents know how I feel. That means I can be vocal and expressive like my husky ancestors.  A detached home is likely best for me as sometimes I get so excited that I sing loudly like when my foster mom is making my food or if she comes home after being gone for a bit so if you lived in an apartment, your neighbours would likely hear me talk.

Did I mention how smart I am?  I already know sit and I sleep really well in my crate at night. I do sometimes have to pee at night but I’ll let you know when and then settle back in my crate after a quick potty break so you can get back to sleep. I’m working really hard at my housetraining and while I do still need some work and need to be taken out frequently, I’m starting to ask to go out so my foster parents think I won’t be too hard to train.

As I’m a pretty busy puppy, my foster parents use an X-pen during the day when they can’t watch me like when my foster mom is working from home. I will play well in my X-pen and settle nicely. Sometimes my foster parents put me in there to remind me to take a nap as I don’t always remember. It works really well.

I met some kids the other day and liked them very much. They were so much fun to kiss and follow around. I do really like to jump though so I will need some more training so I learn not to jump on kids (or adults) as I grow. My foster parents have started to work with me so someone that can continue my training would be great.

Are you ready for a spunky husky that will give you loads of entertainment? Then apply to adopt me so we can meet!” – xo, Hilda
