About Ducky
Hi there – I’m Ducky. My foster thinks I’m around two years old. I’m still learning a lot, but I know how to sit, shake a paw, lay down, and I’m learning how to stay and get better at recall. My foster family says I’m doing really well on being less mouthy and jumpy, positive reinforcement and getting redirected with toys is working great! I’m also pretty much potty trained!
My foster family works from home part time, so I get a lot of their time, but I’m really good in my crate! I stay there all night and don’t mind being in there, and I can spend around 5 hours in there during the day and be ok! Every Wednesday my foster family goes to the office for the day, I stay in the crate for the day but get a friendly pop in and short walk at lunch.
I’m a pretty curious pup, but I’ve also been way better at only playing with toys that are mine. I am living with one other dog right now and she lets me play with her! It’s my favourite thing apart from playing with toys, being with my foster family, and sleeping. I’m a very confident and motivated puppy so I will do anything to join in the fun.
I also really love being outside. I really enjoy chewing on sticks, laying in the grass, and sniffing around, and I do get into zoomies when I’m feeling rambunctious!
I know with my injury I’ll need some extra care and attention. Even though I’m an energetic pup I’ll need my forever home to be attentive, patient, careful and do their best to keep me from getting too out of control. Long hikes, runs and off leash parks may not be a part of my future, but with your help, we’ll figure out something that works. I love playing and fetching and walking, and I think I’ll be a great swimmer!
I’m pretty smart and food motivated so I’ll be easier to train. I’ve hung out with kids and just love them, cats maybe not, I get too excited around them so I’m probably better without them in my home. I just love the adults I’ve been introduced to too!
All in all, I’m a sweet puppy who will be a great addition to your home! I’ll do well in an attentive and caring home, with or without another confident canine.
If you have the time to love me, care for me and keep on training me, I’ll be your new best friend!” Cute and loveable canine pup seeks loving, caring and playful forever home!” – xo, Ducky
