Hey there, its me, Rodeo. I have been waiting for my forever home for a while now, but am having lots of fun with my foster mother and brother in the mean time. I am fully house trained; I always let my mom know when I need out by ringing the bells to go outside. Sometimes I enjoy ringing the bells on the door so I can go in and out just for fun. I love to play with balls, swim and splash around in my doggie pool. I have some fear issues, I don't like rollerblades, bikes, and I am not used to children. I would love to go to doggy school to learn how to be more confident. I love my foster brother, but it takes me a while to trust other dogs, as I tend to run away or snap at them at first. My mom lets me sleep on the bed, and sometimes I like to snuggle, but I usually prefer to sleep under the bed or by myself on the couch, or doggy bed. I get excited when I see me leash, as I know we get to go on an adventure. However, I like to keep the leash in my mouth while we walk, and my foster mother is still trying to help me remember that we are not playing tug of war while out for a walk. All in all, I am a great dog. I would love a family that would take me to some classes to help me gain some confidence and that in turn, would help us bond. I'm pretty sure I'm the girl of someone's dreams. Do you think it could be you?

Update Jan 25, 2013

Rodeo has come a long way in the last 6 months. She used to like to stay very secluded and often spent time under my bed away from everyone. She got some training and has come out of her shell a little more. She is the most affectionate dog that I have ever seen to those she is comfortable around. She greets me excitedly when I get home and immediately brings me a toy or a ball to throw for her to begin playing. However, she still takes a while to warm up to new people and dogs. She still suffers from some fear aggression, that I am trying to work on with her. I have brought her out to the dog park and she is fine if she is the one sniffing another dog, but if the dog is bigger than her and starts sniffing her she snaps and growls and runs away. She has never ran off, she always stays very close to me when off leash. We are working on her on leash skills as she still seems to think her leash is a tug of war game that she needs to hold herself. I have two other dogs that are with her 24/7 and they are her play buddies, and she gets along with them very well, as she is familiar with them. I don’t know how she would deal around cats, as she does like to chase birds and other small creatures. Her favourite game is fetch, she will play for two hours without getting bored and she is very agile and fast. She is a protector and will be a loyal watch dog, she often sits in the chair by the window to keep watch of the house. If you think you can give this sweet dog a good home, don’t hesitate to put in an application and schedule a meeting.
