Meet Galina! Through the caring, diligent efforts of our veterinary staff and incredible team of volunteer cat caregivers, Galina has recovered is now much more trusting of humans. She likes to get to know you first but once she does, she loves receiving all the attention. Head Scratches are her absolute favorite!
Galina is not confident around young children so would be happier in a home with no kids or older kids.
As for cats, Galina has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) so should be the only cat in the home or be with other FIV+ cats. FIV is cat specific so cannot be transferred to humans or other animals. It is contracted mainly through deep bite wounds such as from a cat fight. Having FIV means that Galina has a lower number of white blood cells to fight off infections.
She doesn’t need any special care other than keeping her as healthy as possible through a good diet, up to date vaccines and, of course, keeping her safely indoors.
