    Story

“Hi I’m Wayne! – Think John Wayne, circa his cowboy days – a lone ranger, wild and free.

I am a high energy, crazy kinda dude with lots of fun up my sleeve. I could spend my days just running, throwing my toys around, and launching myself at you and other dogs, if I had my way. I may have a little Border Collie or Aussie Shepherd in me, because all I know is “go go go”!

I am crate trained, and although I like to be where my people are at when they’re home, I can be left alone during the day. I am house trained and I already know “sit” pretty darned well. I could use some further training, however, and some confidence building. Random things like big strange objects outside, or people appearing out of nowhere sometimes freak me out. You can help me work through this, as I am still learning about this new world I’m in. I am a super smart, high energy breed so I require mental stimulation, training, and exercise to balance it all out. If you are familiar with the kind of dog I am, you may be the kind of person I need!

With humans I know, I don’t mind a snuggle or two, and I may even stop for a minute to sit with you. I am working on this thing humans call an “off switch” – what can I say, I was born with the genes of an Energizer Bunny! I would love a dog friend who is understanding of my ways, but beware, I like to play – a LOT! So they will have to want to play a lot too!

That being said, I do require an understanding and quiet home where I can learn to relax and just be me. Things like noise, traffic and a busy household are what the humankind call “over-stimulation”, and are not for me. I was born to be wild, and run free! Well, not actually free. But I would love a little space to run and play, so no apartments or condos, please – or you may find me bouncing off the walls trying to entertain myself while you’re gone. Quiet suburbia, or an acreage, is where I want to put my roots. When I feel happy and safe, I am at my best self!

My ideal home will be that combination of love, exercise, and training as well as some chill time, too. If you think you have what it takes to take on wacky Wayne’s world, apply to adopt me today. I’m ready to find my perfect home!” – xo, Wayne
